Frequently asked questions
What counts as a search?
Each time you submit a query through the search bar or the API, it counts as one search. Viewing result details, clicking through to GitHub, or adjusting filters on existing results does not count as an additional search.
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Go to your Account dashboard and click "Manage subscription." You can upgrade immediately or downgrade at the end of your current billing period. You can also cancel anytime — you'll keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for.
What does the similarity score mean?
The similarity score (shown as a percentage) indicates how conceptually close a repository is to your search query. A higher score means the repository's name, description, and README content are semantically closer to what you described. Scores above 50% typically indicate a strong match.
Why didn't my search return any results?
Our index currently covers repositories that have meaningful README content. If your query is very niche or describes something that doesn't exist in the open-source ecosystem, you may see few or no results. Try broadening your description or describing the problem differently.
When do daily search limits reset?
Daily limits reset at midnight UTC every day.
Can I use the search results commercially?
God Mode Search surfaces publicly visible GitHub repositories. Each repository has its own license that governs how its code can be used. We don't make any claims about the licensing of repositories we surface — always check the repository's license before using its code.
Is my search history private?
We log searches for rate limiting and to improve the product. We do not share individual search queries with third parties. Logged-in users can see their own search history in their account dashboard.
How do I get API access?
API access is available on the Expert ($79/month) and Enterprise plans. Once subscribed, you can generate an API key from your account dashboard. The API uses the same endpoints and returns the same results as the web interface.
